Her Excellency Dr. Bushra Al Mulla

Director General, Family Care Authority

Her Excellency Dr. Bushra Abdullah Al Mulla occupies the position of Director General of the Family Care Authority, in Abu Dhabi. Through direct supervision and a goal-oriented approach, Dr. Bushra leads the vision and efforts of the Care Authority family in providing comprehensive and central specialized social services in Abu Dhabi, by empowering distinguished teams in performance, Giving priority to innovation and ensuring excellence in the various transformational projects that it supervises within the Authority. Dr. Bushra also holds several positions, including, Membership of the Board of Directors of Al-Mubarakah Foundation, Membership of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates College for Educational Development, and Vice-Chairman of the Committee. She is a specialist in dealing with substance abuse and addiction affairs at the National Rehabilitation Center in Abu Dhabi. She was previously a member of the Board of Directors of the “National Rehabilitation Center” and Director of the Education and Community Development Department in the Policy and Innovation Sector in the Prime Minister’s Office, and Director of the Department of People with Disabilities and Vulnerable Groups in Society in Dubai Community Development Authority. In addition to being a member of several executive committees concerned with health and social care. Lt. Col. Abdulrahman Al Tamimi

Director, Ministry of Interior Child Protection Centre

A Police Lieutenant Colonel working for the U.A.E. Ministry of Interior with a service track record of over 20 years in various law enforcement activities, covering areas from Criminal and Crime Scene Investigations to Child Protection. Currently serving as the Deputy Director General of the International Affairs Bureau and the Director of the Child Protection Center in the Ministry of Interior. The Child Protection Center is the unit in charge of child protection from all types of abuse or mistreatment throughout the U.A.E. and it is also the unit in charge of children protection online nationwide. Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman also represents the U.A.E. on the Board of Advisors in the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT).




Mr. Saji Thomas

Chief, Child Protection UNICEF, Gulf Area Office and Programme Lead, UNICEF UAE.

Saji Thomas is Chief, Child Protection UNICEF Gulf Area Office and Programme Lead,UNICEF UAE. Saji has over 20 years’ experience working on human rights, child rights and child protection. He completes 16 years with UNICEF this year - a journey that started in India, included move to Sri Lanka, UNICEF HQ in New York and Egypt. As Child Protection specialist in Sri Lanka, he was part of the recovery and reconciliation process led by the UN after the end of the long-drawn conflict in the country. At HQ, he served as the global focal person for Mental Health and Psychosocial support for five years and provided leadership in the development of many a global guidance. While at HQ, he also served as the co-chair of the Inter- agency Standing Committee Reference Group on MHPSS. He worked as Chief, Child Protection in Egypt providing leadership in child protection systems strengthening and supported putting in place a cross-sectoral approach to Ending Violence against Children (EVAC). He holds a Masters in Social Work from Pune University, India, additional qualifications in Research Methodology and completed the UNICEF-INSEAD, France Leadership Development Programme in 2016.

Dr. Nooreya Alobeidli

Psychological & Educational Counselor Khalifa University

Dr.Nooreya Alobeidli, holds a Ph.D. in Education and a Master’s degree in Psychological & Educational Counselling. For the past 10 years, she has worked as a student counselor for various higher education institutions in Abu Dhabi. During this time, she has also volunteered to provide counseling to those in need in the community. Dr. Nooreya is passionate about helping students to set realistic goals and implementation plans to meet the many challenges of academia. Outside of academia, she teaches parenting techniques with the aim of behavior modification in both children and their parents. In addition to counseling, Dr. Nooreya is also an author and published five Arabic children’s books.

Ziad is a Partner in Risk Advisory (RA) and leads the Cyber services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In addition, Ziad leads the Middle East Data Risk & Privacy and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Dr. Atheer Al-Mousa

Dr. Atheer Al-Mousa is currently the Computing Subject Lead and the Cybersecurity Program Leader at De Montfort University-Dubai. Dr. Al-Mousa area of specialisation is Computer Networks and Cybersecurity. In the past, he worked for several universities in the Middle-east, Asia and New Zealand. He started his career at the University of Nottingham as a lecturer. Dr. Al-Mousa has several years of experience working in the higher education sector in the GCC. Dr. Al-Mousa was the Chair of the IT department and the Director of the Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning at the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani. He also worked as the ITS Director for the American International University in Kuwait. Dr. Atheer other area of research interest is designing algorithms for bioinformatics.
